Are trips physically demanding?

Our trips have different levels of physical activities: from complete leisure to intense outdoor trips. Trips from the category of outdoor activities will be more physically challenging while the others can be enjoyed at great comfort.

You can always tell our travel expert about your physical conditions so we can make the best-suited trip for you.

Does VMS have family-friendly trips?

Yes, we have designed lots of great mountainous experiences for you to enjoy with your kids. Browse our travel style’s option in the homepage’s search bar or filter your travel style on our tour list, you will see some nice tour ideas for your Vietnam mountain family trip.

Will I be on a group or private trip?

We have both options for you. Check the “our tour” tab in the menu to find out.

Do I have a single room surcharge if I travel solo?

There will be a single room surcharge if it’s a private trip.

On a group trip, you will share your room with another person. We will try our best to arrange same-gender travelers in one room, but it can not be assured. If you require a single room, there will be a surcharge.

I have a disability, can I join the trip?

Yes, you are welcomed. As for a private tour, we will craft experiences suitable to your ability. If you want to join a group tour, we will help you choose the possible and enjoyable ones and assist you during the trip.

Can I meet your travel expert in person in Vietnam?

Yes, you can always discuss your trip ideas with us in person. We base at no 5/41 Tay Ho street, Hanoi, Vietnam.

Do you arrange tours to another region of Vietnam?

No. We’re specialized in Vietnam’s northern mountains. However, if you want our support for a long journey throughout Vietnam and Indochina countries, please check our parent company – Indochina Voyages

Do you offer airport transfers? Are they free?

Yes. We have an airport transfer service. This service will be charged

Is the mountainous area safe to travel to? What do you do to guarantee safety?

Yes. All of our tour routes are carefully selected, our accommodation’s neighbors have no reputation of social evils, our guides are experts in their travel fields.

What are accommodation & facility standards should I expect in the Vietnam Mountain region? Do they have a heater, electricity, wifi, etc?

It depends on when you’re heading to. Some of the mountainous regions have high-standard resorts and lodges, while the more off-the-beaten destinations only have homestay or hostels. Nevertheless, they all have a heater, electricity, wifi, and other basic needs. VMS always chooses the most decent accommodations in the destination for our journey.

Can I drink water in Vietnam mountain?

No. It is not safe to drink tap water in Vietnam.

What is the currency in my destination? How much should I take in credit cards/cash? Can I use my credit card during my trip?

The Vietnam Dong (VND) is the only currency used in the mountainous area. Unless you are traveling to top-notch lodges and resorts or extremely popular cities such as Sapa, Pu Luong, bank and ATM are not adequately available in lots of mountainous regions, therefore, please bring cash. How much you should bring depends on the trip duration.

What will the food be like on my trip?

Yes. Please tell us in advance and we will work out with local cooks to prepare your lovely meals.

I have special dietary requirements – will they be catered for?

It depends on your trip. Yet it will be mostly mountainous cuisines.

Tell us if you have some ideas for your menu.

Can I opt out of certain activities if I want to?

Yes. As long as it does not affect the schedule of other people’s in your group, you are welcomed to choose how you want to enjoy your time during the trip.

Do I get any free time?

It depends on the itineraries. But most of our tour is designed for travelers to have time with the places alone.

Do I need to pay the deposit?

Yes. Once you have made the booking, you have to pay 50% of the tour fee so as we can book your services. Find out about our Booking Policy in Terms and Conditions.

How can I make the final payment or settle the remaining balance?

You have to make the final payment 7 days before the trip. You can make a payment with cash or online via Onepay (3% processing fee per transaction)

What if I need to cancel or change my itinerary?

We will try our best to assist you even with up-to-minute changes. However, please understand that once we have booked your services, you might not get a refund. Find more about our Refund Policy and Covid Policy.

What happens if something goes wrong?

It is very limited for anything to go wrong. However, if there are any troubles, please contact your travel expert right away by phone, I-mess, Viber, Messenger, or email. If you are on a day trip with a guide & driver, you can always ask them for preliminary help. If something goes beyond their ability, then they will call our office for further assistance. Not to worry, it has been our verified procedure. We also ensure that we have your emergency contact information for someone at home so they can be contacted if necessary.

How do you work on minimizing travel footprints?

We tried our best to cut down the use of plastics in our services: we only use reusable or organic materials in our picnic services, our property does not provide one-time amenities such as tiny shampoo bottles or toothbrushes.

How do you collaborate with local people?

Local people are not only our business partners but also our friends. We practice our ethnicity and help earns their living in travel and hospitability professionally and sustainably. We trained them to be a guide, a host, a tour supporter, to the cafe shop owner. In return, they join us in creating decent, authentic, and heartwarming experiences for our guests.
